Gangnam Picture Plane

The Picture Plane in Perspective

The picture plane is that imaginary window that the Omnipotent Observer is looking through. This invisible picture plane is between the Omnipotent Observer/Station Point and the objects being viewed. The picture plane is perpendicular to the parallel receding lines of sight.

So we've just scratched the surface of perspective here. Please seek out more information to study on your own.

Now let's get back  to composition, which was so rudely interrupted.

Please follow, comment and subscribe. Well... you don't have to do all of them. At least do one of them. okay?

A Week of Passings in the Comics Industry

Comics Industry Takes a Hit a Three go Home to Glory

We lost three creators who definitely left their impact on a generation of artists and popular culture that can't be denied.

Bob Clarke, one of MAD Magazine’s original artists, died March 31st Sunday of complications of pneumonia. He was 87.

His best-known work was his Believe It or NUTS! parody of the famous Ripley’s Believe It or Not! He also illustrated Ripley’s Believe It or Not!

George Gladir, an award winning writer best known for his prolific work at Archie Comics, died April 3rd Wednesday night at the age of 88.

He co-created Sabrina the Teenage Witch with Dan DeCarlo in 1962 and which went on to become one of Archie's most popular characters. She's my favorite of the Archie gang.

Carmine Infantino passed on April 4th Thursday at his home in Manhattan. He was 87.
Love him or hate him for his wonky art style in his later years or his tenure as DC Comics publisher, he was instrumental in kicking off the Silver Age of Comics with The Flash. Also helped co-created Batgirl! Look at those costumes designs. Both are very pure and have never been improved upon. The best costumes never can and become iconic.

It's All About Perspective

Perspective in Action

Receding lines

The Picture Plane Diagram View shows blue parallel receding lines which are at right angles to the Picture Plane. The Center of Vision is where the the parallel ray from the eye meets the Picture Plane.

The Picture Plane Perspective View shows that the blue parallel receding lines must vanish in the Center of Vision. The Center of Vision is at the intersection of the Picture Plane by a Horizon Line.

Back from Wonder Con 2013

Wonder Con was great!

me and Kayla
Howard with young fan Kayla for whom he drew her portrait on a skateboard.

It was great to meet the fans and do sketches for them. I attended some very good panels. So I enjoyed my kind of first time there.

I'll get back to talking about perspective tomorrow, for real! I've kept you waiting too long!
